Business and Payroll Manager - Maternity Leave 1-Year Contract
Commencing early April 2026 (to allow for handover)
Aetaomah School, nestled in the foothills of Wollumbin, Northern NSW (10 minutes south of Uki), offers a creative and engaging Steiner curriculum. For over 30 years, our school, held by the mighty Tweed River and beautiful forests, has built a strong reputation for its unique approach to education.
Aetaomah School is seeking a capable, organised and proactive person to join our vibrant school community in the position of Business and Payroll Manager; this is a Maternity Leave 1-Year Contract. The successful applicant will commence in early April 2026 to ensure a thorough handover period.

This is a key leadership support role within our school, responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative operations that underpin the smooth running of Aetaomah School.
​
About the Role
​
Reporting to the Principal, the Business and Payroll Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:

Managing payroll
-
Overseeing all financial aspects of the school
-
Accounts payable and receivable
-
Paying bills and processing invoices
-
Reconciling accounts
-
Preparing financial reports
-
Liaising and working with auditors on an annual basis
-
Managing contracts
-
Supporting HR-related tasks, including employment documentation and compliance
This is a dynamic and varied role suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, accuracy and working in a collaborative and creative environment around children.

About You
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience in a similar business or finance role (experience in a school environment highly regarded)

Demonstrate strong payroll and financial management skills
-
Have sound knowledge of compliance and reporting requirements
-
Be highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple responsibilities
-
Be confident working with auditors and external stakeholders
-
Enjoy working in a dynamic workplace
-
Have an interest in Steiner Education and supporting a values-based school community
-
Desirably, have experience using MYOB
Salary
​
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the
Independent Schools NSW (Professional and Operational Staff) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025, commensurate with experience.

Aetaomah School is seeking an experienced Class Teacher to commence with a Primary Class at the start of the 2026 school year. The successful applicant will provide a dynamic educational environment and learning experience for all students, guiding them through their primary school journey.
​
Candidates should have a strong commitment to Steiner Education, demonstrated experience as a Class Teacher in a Steiner school, relevant teaching qualifications, and registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
